X-WR-CALDESC:This special online event will reveal key results of the 5-yea
r genetic DCM Precision Medicine Study. The DCM Foundation will be hostin
g this webinar on July 29th at 7:30 PM ET to share the results of this mul
ti-year genetic dilated cardiomyopathy study! \n\nThis study\, funded by t
he NIH\, was aimed to test the hypothesis that most dilated cardiomyopathy
(DCM) cases of unknown cause have an underlying genetic basis. The RESULT
S ARE IN!\n\nAn online event for all study participants of the DCM Precisi
on Medicine and DCM Discovery studies\n\nJoin Dr. Ray Hershberger and the
DCM Precision Medicine investigative team for a presentation of key study
results. We also invite all study participants of prior DCM Research Proje
cts to join.\n\nThe DCM Precision Medicine Study consists of a diverse coh
ort of individuals with DCM and their family members of African and Europe
an ancestry\, as well as a subset of individuals who are of Hispanic ethni
city. By studying individuals with DCM and their family members\, we aimed
to describe the proportion of DCM that is familial and the proportion of
probands with an identified genetic cause of their DCM. Our diverse cohort
allows us to consider the genetic differences that contribute to DCM betw
 een sex\, race\, and ethnic groups.\n\nKey Presentation Topics include:\n°
Proportion of familial DCM in a cohort of patients with DCM\n° Understand
ing DCM genetics in European and African ancestry\n° Family communication
regarding DCM\n\nYou will have the opportunity to submit questions prior t
o the event and also for live Q and A sessions throughout the event.
