Board of Directors

The Barth Syndrome Foundation's Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing the mission and purpose of the organization. Its duties include participation in strategic planning and making policy decisions, then securing the financing of them and the monitoring of their execution. Members must be willing to attend the requisite meetings, follow through on commitments, and participate fully in the decision-making process. The board also presents the organization´s image to the community and solicits its support in achieving BSF´s goals. Members of the BSF Board of Directors serve three-year terms. James (Jamie) Baffa

James (Jamie) Baffa

Jamie lives in Philadelphia and is a Managing Director at CRA in their Strategic Communications Practice where he works closely with clients to help address their most pressing challenges through communication. He has particular expertise in helping leaders and organizations navigate significant organizational change, design strategic messages and narratives, and cascade strategy. His recent clients include Dell, the European Investment Bank, Grainger, Interstate Batteries, McDonald’s, Sanofi Genzyme, and the World Bank Group.

Before joining CRA, Jamie coached rowing at both the high school and collegiate levels. He studied at the University of Notre Dame where he received his B.A. in anthropology and art history. While at Notre Dame, he participated in archaeological fieldwork in Athens, Greece and on a series of small islands off the western coast of Ireland.  Importantly, Jamie is the brother of an individual affected by Barth syndrome, and he and his family have been involved with BSF as community members and volunteers since the beginning.
