Join us on Zoom, Friday, July 25 at 12:00 PM ET as we welcome Dr. Seul Kee Byeon, a scientist at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, who studies how certain fats, called lipids, play important roles in how our bodies work. One of her research projects focuses on understanding a special type of lipid called cardiolipin, which is not made properly in Barth syndrome. She is currently working to develop better tools for measuring cardiolipins, with the goal of supporting families. Her work combines lab-based discovery with efforts to make real-life testing more accessible and meaningful. In this talk, she will share findings from her latest work and from the on-site research she conducted at the 2024 Barth Syndrome International Conference.
